Maiko (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maiko) Young women (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geisha) who perform traditional Japanese performing arts at dinners and parties and are in the training stage before they become artshots are mainly used by Seijin (other than Kyoto, more common terms, geisha are used).

Maiko and geisha started at a café in Kyoto about 300 years ago to serve traditional tea and sweets.
